In Alabama, a Conecuh County foster home with eight children is under investigation after a toddler becomes a victim of abusive head trauma and is critically injured.  The foster parents Joyce Ann Savage Sims and Lonnell Sims remain in jail. The child struggles to stay alive at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. On May 11, EMS was called to the trailer home where eight foster children were living to find the toddler in respiratory arrest and shock. He was taken by life flight to Sacred Heart Hospital. He is found to have sustained massive injuries to his brain with evidence of blunt-force trauma and multiple bruises to his body. News stories report it allegedly appears the toddler has suffered repeated non-accidental abuse with evidence of impact equivalent to being involved in a high-impact auto accident or being dropped from a two-story building.

Conecuh County District Attorney Tommy Chapman allegedly believes the foster system needs to be investigated as a result of this case due to the amount of children in a trailer and the conditions of their placement.

My sister introduced me to this child(the child that was beaten by his foster parents)and his biological family. These children have been thru quite enough, they have lost their father and then almost lost a sibling due to the hands of negligence..Negligence being DSS.What happened to checking out these potential foster parents with a "fine tooth comb" before letting them care for other peoples children??? I mean seriously these kids have been put thru enough and taken away to HELP them and so the parents can help themselves get straight in the mean time. These kids are scarred and traumatized!
