In California, Alex Kermith Mendoza faces trial for the murder and torture of a three-year-old boy, Michael Vallejo-Seiber. Michael died on August 27, 2005. Mr. Mendoza faces the death penalty if convicted. The way this child died is absolutely heinous. The child’s autopsy showed evidence of sodomy, fractured ribs, fractured skull, burns on his genitalia and anus, and blunt trauma secondary to kicking, stomping and throwing. The autopsy revealed the child died from massive internal injuries, including lacerated liver, pancreas and hemorrhagic diaphragm and kidneys. The investigation also revealed that the child was made to eat his own fecal matter and urine before he died. This information came out in the trial of Mendoza’s accomplice Richard Daniel Cox.
By way of history, the deceased child’s mother, Pam Seiber, had dated Mendoza and left her 3-year-old son in his care multiple times. She currently is serving a six year sentence for child endangerment.
