In California, Starkeisha Brown and Krystal Denise Matthews pled no contest to brutal child abuse charges. Both women will serve prison time in connection with a four-year-old boy’s child abuse injuries. Thanks to the watchful eye of a stranger noticing the poor status of a four year-old boy, these two women will serve time. The investigation allegedly uncovered that the boy had been starved. When authorities found the child he was suffering from kidney failure, malnutrition, anemia and an untreated burn injury to his hand. He had been beat with a looped object and a belt. He also had cigarette burns on his genitals. News stories report this duo had a significant amount of previous CPS contact with county child welfare workers in the past.
