In Hennepin County, Rachel Reeves faces second-degree murder charges in connection with the alleged child abuse death of her 13-month-old daughter, Julia Leigh Rivera. On March 26, 2009, baby Julia was brought to the baby sitter’s house by her mother, Ms. Reeves. News stories report the baby sitter noticed Julia was not looking well. Emergency personnel were called to the home and she was transferred to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis where she later passed away. The Hennepin County medical examiner determined that cause of death was blunt-force trauma. Ms. Reeves remains in Hennepin County Jail.
