In Idaho, Mauricio Cando-Franco is charged in connection with the death of a six-month-old baby girl. Mr. Cando-Franco faces first-degree murder by aggravated battery charges in this case. News stories report the baby girl fatal injuries were discovered at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and Primary Children’s Medical Center. Reportedly, she suffered severe brain damage and a detached retina. She passed away this past Monday. These types of injuries are consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome and non-accidental abusive head trauma in children.
