In Illinois, Randall S. White and Bethany Jo Mendenhall face child abuse charges in connection with the injuries of their two-month-old son. Ms. Mendenhall is the daughter of suspected Tennessee serial killer Bruce Mendenhall. Mr. White faces felony charges including aggravated battery of a child. He is accused of causing great bodily harm and permanent disability of a child under the age of 12. Ms. Mendenhall faces a misdemeanor charge of endangering the health of a child. Both are held in the White County Jail. The injured baby was treated at Fairfield Memorial Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Hospital and is now in the protective custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
