In Milwaukee, Darius Woodley is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the death of baby Dekia. Allegedly, the defendant inflicted head trauma on the baby victim and then hid her under a mattress after family members left him to care for the infant. Preliminary findings allege that Mr. Woodley used illegal drugs prior to being left to care for the crying baby. Authorities report the home was in filthy condition with no heat. Mr. Woodley remains in custody. The Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare has started their investigation.
