In North Carolina, Mario McNeil is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child in connection with the death of five-year-old Shaniya Davis. According to investigators, Shaniya was sexually molested and asphyxiated on the same day she was reported missing from her home. Mr. McNeil was initially charged with kidnapping.  

Antoinette Davis, Shaniya’s biological mother, is also charged in this tragic case.
