In Texas, Thomas Joel Villa died from abusive head trauma, according to police. Healthcare providers and police determined that Thomas’s injuries were the result of blunt trauma to the head and shaking. After this tragic event this past Wednesday, Thomas’s brothers were removed from the custody of their parents and placed under the care of Child Protective Services (CPS). According to news stories, the Villa family had prior contact with the CPS due to allegations of child abuse and medical negligence.
