In Utah, Emperatriz Meza-Reyna is held in connection with the critical child abuse injuries of her seven year-old daughter. The child’s condition is critical. News stories report that allegedly Ms. Meza-Reyna arrived with her daughter to Pioneer Valley Hospital where the child was found to have multiple bruises, bite marks and evidence of blunt trauma on many areas of her body, including brain trauma. The child’s condition allegedly deteriorated rapidly. She was transferred to Primary Children’s Medical Center where she underwent brain surgery.
By way of history, this is not the first beating allegedly inflicted by Emperatriz Meza-Reyna on this child. The child had been removed from the home and returned to the home over the past two years by the Division of Child and Family Services. Allegedly, Ms. Meza-Reyna had been arrested in the past for child abuse charges.
