In Wisconsin, Crystal Keith was sentenced in connection to the beating death of her 13-month-old nephew Christopher Thomas. Christopher died on November 11, 2008. Ms. Keith was convicted of reckless homicide and physical abuse of a child.  

By way of history, Christopher was placed with Ms. Keith in June 2008 after a foster family had tried to adopt him.  At the time of his placement with Ms. Keith, Christopher was in the care of the Milwaukee Bureau of Child Welfare.
