The Modesto Bee has reported that Leo Suarez, previously a priest at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Modesto, California has been removed from his position. The article reports that the priest has voluntarily admitted to sexual misconduct with a minor more than twenty years ago. The holy father Suarez's removal from his position is apparently so recent that even the parishioners haven't yet been told about it. The article also indicates that the Catholic Church has asked for anyone who has information about similar incidents to report them to Sister Barbara Thiella, victim assistance counselor, at 466-0636.

This holy father Leo Suarez, and the church that employed and enabled him, abused their position of trust with a child. While professing to be holy and representing god, a child was molested and abused - and then sat on it for 20 years while this child could have been receiving help from mental health counselors who actually cared about him or her to help him or her heal from this child abuse. The article shows a photo of a smiling father Suarez reportedly from 2006 - which was after he admittedly sexually abused the child and before he reportedly "confessed" to the abuse last summer. So, he was still enjoying himself and employed as a catholic priest while his victim was left to deal with his or her abuse. Suarez also worked at St. Stanislaus in Modesto, California and Sacred Heart in Stockton, California.
