Roberto Antonio Alvarez testified in his trial he did not know about his deceased daughter, Mariah Alvarez’s, fatal injuries prior to her death. He is charged with failing to seek medical care for his daughter. Mariah’s mother, Melissa Lucio was convicted of capital murder in this case. Ms. Lucio received a death penalty sentence and is appealing. By way of history, Mr. Alvarez found his daughter pale and not breathing in the family home and attempted to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation until EMS arrived.
