Shaken Baby Syndrome

- In New Hampshire, Governor John Lynch signed a new law, SB311, extending the statute of limitation to age 30 for reporting childhood sexual abuse crimes.

Children with seat belt injuries
Seat-belt syndrome includes a pattern of injuries sustained after a car accident. It includes intra-abdominal, spinal and lower extremity trauma. Improper use of safety restraints is three times more likely to cause abdominal injury in children. A study in 2001, showed no abdominal injury and no seat-belt syndrome in the group of children that were properly restrained within booster chairs while involved in an accident. The smaller children that were restrained in seat belts alone suffered injuries to all parts of the body during this study.
