April is recognized as Child Abuse Awareness Month. The Kern County Network for Children reports more than 4,000 children were victims of abuse in 2012.
A ceremony was held Friday April 5th, 2013 for local children who died last year because of violence. It's a reminder of the issue and how important it is to report abuse before it gets to this extreme point.
