Police arrested the owner of two Rottweilers on Tuesday night in connection with the dogs' attack on a 7-year-old boy in April. Kieran Thomas Burns, 50, was arrested on four felony counts of allowing mischievous animals to be at large causing bodily injury. According to reports, the dogs attacked Roberto Kampfner Jr. as he was walking with his father in the 700 block of El Paseo Drive on April 29. Roberto Kampfner lifted his son up and shielded him during the attack but the boy suffered 20 deep tear wounds to his legs, Petaluma Animal Services said. It was reported that the dogs had previously attacked other dogs.
