Robbie Lee Hatcher was reported arrested on a charge of aggravated child abuse in Florida, in a case involving a 6 week old baby. According to reports, Hatcher admitted shaking the child, but after she had vomited and in an effort to help her. A report such as this is interesting for a few reasons. First, reports such as this are interesting for a few reasons. First, oftentimes people attack the fact that shaking can cause severe injuries as part of a defense. When an adult admits that he shook a baby, however, albeit after the adult claims the baby was in distress, the ability to challenge that shaking caused the injury becomes muddied.
