In Monroe County, Carmen Cruz, the mother of the deceased child, was escorted out of the court room during court proceedings as Abner Gomez pled not guilty to manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. Allegedly, Ms. Cruz began yelling in the court room at her former boyfriend. Because of the disruption to the proceedings, she was escorted out and asked to leave the Hall of Justice entirely. News stories report that Jasmine had extensive bruising, broken ribs and internal bruising to her brain, chest and stomach. Mr. Gomez is being held without bail.
