In California, domestic violence can be considered sufficient evidence to remove a child from a home to protect his or her safety.  Mandatory reporters should be aware of this - and should report known or suspected domestic violence.  This can serve 2 purposes - to protect a child, and to direct the family for help before a life changing event such as a death or shaken baby occurs.  Read this article in the Willit, California news.
