In Utah, Cameron Nielson will face charges related to the death of his infant son, Jason Nielson.

In Utah, Cameron Nielson will face charges for the death of his infant son, Jason Nielson.  Charges against him have been upgraded to aggravated murder. His infant son died five months after sustaining life-threatening head injuries from child abuse.   

The state medical examiner’s autopsy report revealed the baby died of inflicted head trauma. Jason was six weeks old when he was hospitalized. He was blind from the head injuries that ultimately claimed his life.  

Abusive head trauma has a mortality rate of 30%. Of the survivors, over 50% sustain life long disability, including blindness and cognitive disorders.
