In Carteret County, the Sherriff’s Office revealed that Jacob Leo Strait, Jr. has been arrested and charged with two counts of Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Injury. Allegedly, he assaulted his two children on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. The injured children were treated at Carteret General Hospital. Mr. Strait remains in Carteret County Jail.
While women often abuse children more frequently, men tend to inflict more serious injuries to children.
