In Bay County, Robert Sturdivant, 26 year-old, was found guilty of murder and child abuse for the November 2007 death of Isaiah Howard. The investigation revealed that two-year-old Isaiah died from blunt force trauma. It took one year and one day to convict Mr. Sturdivant for this crime.
Well-adjusted parenting and caregiver styles are learned behaviors. While women are more likely and more frequently the perpetrators of child abuse; men tend to abuse more severely. Male abusers, in particular non-biological males, are more often responsible for severe child abuse outcomes.
