Skyler O’Ryan Thomas died on Sunday from injuries consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome.

In Ohio, Skyler O’Ryan Thomas died on Sunday from injuries consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome. She was three months old when she died. Her father, Teddy Thomas III allegedly admitted during a police interview that he shook the infant.  Skyler has a twin brother that was taken into custody by the Marion County Children Services. The twin, Teddy Thomas IV, is healing from fractured ribs and at least for now will not be returned to the family after his medical care is completed. Teddy Thomas, III remains in Multi-County Correctional Center. The mother was home sleeping at the time of the child’s abuse.    

Mothers have demonstrated a more frequent tendency to abuse and are generally younger in age than male adult abusers. However male adult abusers inflict more severe abuse outcomes.
