In California, Joe Hudson plans to sue Fresno County Department of Children and Family Services for the death of his son, Seth Ireland. Lebaron Vaughn and Rena Ireland remain in police custody. Between August and December 2008, multiple complaints from different callers to Fresno County CPS regarding the child abuse of Seth Ireland and his sibling were received from the department of children’s services, yet the children were not removed from the home of Ireland and Vaughn. Someone in the department determined that Seth was not in eminent danger. Now Seth is dead, he became another tragic victim of child abuse at the hands of a mother and mother’s abusive boyfriend.
