In Pennsylvania, Nicholas Ray McKee is charged with child abuse in connection with the fatal injuries suffered by 5-week-old Bella Appel-McKee. Bella passed away at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. According to authorities, her injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome. Mr. McKee is in custody. The case will be heard in Washington County District Court. The Department of Social Services and Washington County Sherriff’s Department are involved in the investigation.
