In South Carolina, Father charged in 5-month-old's death | Shaken Baby Syndrome Attorney

Laurinburg police have reportedly charged the father of a 5-month-old who died in December 2012 with First Degree Murder.

They reportedly arrested Samuel Emmanuel Christian Sr., 23, of Laurinburg, Monday and placed him in the Scotland County Jail.

On December 17, 2012, Scotland Memorial Hospital workers reportedly called police about a child in the emergency room with head trauma, possibly from an assault.

Officers were informed the hemorrhaging was consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome.

The child, Samuel Emmanuel Christian Jr., about 5 months old, was later transferred to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for further treatment.

The child received treatment, but there reportedly was no indication of brain activity.

On December 19, 2012, the child was pronounced dead.
