In California, Officials strip Berkeley woman of day care license | Daycare Injury

Authorities say a Berkeley woman has reportedly been stripped of her family home day care license after being sentenced for carrying a concealed weapon and alcohol-related reckless driving.

The Contra Costa Times ( http://bit.ly/Nkshhb) says 49-year-old Tanya Comminey has reportedly run Bright Morning Star Day Care in Berkeley for over 20 years. She was arrested twice in two weeks by El Cerrito police in 2009 and pleaded no contest in 2010.

She was reportedly sentenced to 30 days in jail, two years of probation and fined $1,200.

But that reportedly violated a probationary license she'd been granted to run her center after she was cited for using a stove for heat and leaving children with unqualified adults.
