9th Circuit upholds decision to exonerate Shirley Ree Williams in shaken baby syndrome conviction

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a decision to exonerate Shirley Ree Williams' prior conviction for the death of her grandson. It was reported that the claim of shaken baby syndrome "was wholly unsupported by the physical evidence" and overturned Smith's conviction.
