In Massachusetts, Retired Mass. teacher faces child abuse charges | Child Abuse

A former Foxborough middle school teacher, Boy Scout leader and swim coach has been reportedly charged with sexually abusing at least eight boys.

Police have reportedly charged 73-year-old William Sheehan, who now lives at a nursing home in Fort Myers, Fla., with nine counts of indecent assault on a child age 14 or older.

The alleged offenses reportedly occurred in Massachusetts, some up to 40 years ago. Authorities say Sheehan has not been arrested because he is in poor health. He could not be reached for comment.

Superintendent Debra Spinelli reportedly says she told police this summer when a former student, now an adult, came to her with a complaint about Sheehan.

Spinelli says Sheehan reportedly worked at two elementary schools and the middle school between 1968 and 1980 when he moved to Florida.
