In Atascadero, Kelly Dwayne Lavigne faces charges related to alleged child abuse of his infant son. The thirteen week-old infant was critically injured on March 16, 2009. The baby was hospitalized with Shaken Baby Syndrome. News stories report that on April 30th the baby died at a children’s hospital in Madera. An autopsy will determine the cause of death and whether the death is related to Shaken Baby Syndrome. If the baby’s death is determined to be related to the Shaken Baby Syndrome, then the baby’s father, Mr. Lavigne, may face more charges.
