In Illinois, an internet romance results in the death of the woman’s 18-month-old daughter after her new male companion, Lee K. Ponshe, allegedly delivers a deadly blow to the child’s head. Lee Ponshe is charged with first-degree murder. News stories report that Mr. Ponshe met Jessi Dunlap on the Internet. After developing a relationship with him, Ms. Dunlap moved herself and her daughter in with Mr. Ponshe. The mother and child lived with Mr. Ponshe only a short time before the child died from child abuse. Investigators report that little Halli died from blunt trauma to her head. Mr. Ponshe is in custody in Will County. Funeral arrangements have been made.
