In Jackson County, MO, on September 15th, Kyle W. Cooper and Kimberly Helmes were charged with murder and child endangerment for the death of a 1-year-old boy. The investigation revealed that the baby died from injuries including malnutrition, a fractured arm, fractured skull, multiple rib fractures and a severed tongue. News stories report that the defendants tried to stitch the tongue injury with a needle and thread. The baby died on September 12th allegedly from injuries sustained over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
