In Las Vegas, Anthony and Melissa Melendrez are charged with felony child neglect, abuse and endangerment. Mr. and Mrs. Melendrez owned several snakes including pythons and boa constrictors. The snakes were not properly caged.The investigation revealed that one of the python snakes wrapped around the toddler. Mrs. Melendrez stabbed the python more than a dozen times trying to rescue her child. The preliminary hearing will be heard February 25th.
The toddler survived the attack and has been released from the hospital.
