In North Carolina, Kathy Lynn Swafford and Dwight Stacy Justice face charges in connection with the death of two-year-old Jeremiah Swafford. Up to recently, both remained in custody. The North Carolina Medical Examiners Office autopsy findings concluded that Jeremiah died on February 14th from blunt force trauma to the head and physical assault and abuse.

Danny Thomas is Jeremiah’s biological father. Initially, Jeremiah was taken emergently to Cleveland Medical Center by EMS after an alleged fall and being sick for a couple days. He was then transferred to Carolinas Medical Center where he died. Authorities report that the extent of his injuries was not consistent with a simple fall.
