In Oshkosh, Judge Karen Seifert sentenced Sandra Scott to 25 years in prison for charges of first-degree reckless homicide in relation to the death of 2-year-old Alizay Koepf. Sandra Scott was babysitting Alizay when the child abuse occurred. News stories report that Ms. Scott admitted to hitting Alizay in the stomach twice making the toddler fall backwards and hit her head. The investigation reveals that Alizay hit her head on a liquor bottle. She subsequently died at the hospital.
Unrealistic expectations and poor impulse control are two prominent features in adults that engage in child abuse.
