The State of Nebraska is introducing new guidelines for investigating deaths of children between the ages of 0 – 36 months of age. The training program will target police agencies involved in investigating un-expected deaths in babies and toddlers. Attorney General Jon Bruning and County Don Kleine made the announcement introducing the training program to news agencies and the general public. The training program will be completed over the next six months. The new guidelines are the result of a collaboration between the American Academy of Pediatrics, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Association of Medical Examiners.
