Domingo Ferreira has been found dead in his cell at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility. He had been alone in protective custody for 36 hours at the time he was found. Mr. Ferreira had been charged in connection with the child abuse death of his 10-year-old daughter Charleeni Ferreira. Charleeni allegedly died from a collapsed lung and infection sustained from child abuse wounds including severe head trauma, multiple bruises, multiple fractures and injuries consistent with child sex abuse. Margarita Garabito is Chareleeni’s stepmother. She faces charged of murder and is currently held in the Riverside Correctional Facility.
