In Idaho, child abuser Charles Smith admits to seriously abusing a three year old girl, Kyra Wine. Kyra was subjected to this abuse while Smith lived with her mother, Christina Haynes. Smith pled guilty to one count of felony injury.
Neighbors admit to news reporters that calls had been placed to child protective services prior to local police checking into the matter due to an anonymous tip. Police arrived to the home of Kyra Wine to find her severely injured and her condition deteriorating rapidly.
Kyra was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Her recovery was long and extensive involving surgical intervention and amputation of her feet. Currently, Kyra is in the care of her grandmother Deanna Wine. Kyra has adjusted to her prosthetic feet and is back to being an active little girl.
Charles Smith will be sentenced in March. The Keane Law Firm represents children nationwide.
