In Illinois, Charleston Day Care Operator Arrested for Allegedly Shaking Baby | Shaken Baby Syndrome Attorney

A Charleston day care operator has been reportedly arrested for allegedly shaking a baby.

Patricia Brant was reportedly arrested by Charleston police on a count of aggravated assault of a child, a Class X felony.  Brant is the owner-operator of Treasured Tots Daycare.

The reported victim, one-year-old Piersen Eaker, has reportedly been in the hospital since Friday with signs of shaken baby syndrome.  He had some bleeding in his brain.  The boy is now able to breathe on his own, but is still sedated.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of abuse and neglect involving five victims.

Brant is being held in Coles County Safety and Detention Center in Charleston under $200,000 bond.  Charges are expected to be filed before week's end.
