In Maine, David Cook, 25-year-old, is charged with manslaughter for the death of toddler, Matteo Hanson. Mr. Cook was babysitting for Matteo and his three-year-old sister when he was mortally injured. Matteo was 17-months-old when he died on November 29, 2008. The police investigation reveals that he died from multiple blunt-force trauma. At the time of his death the medical examiner determined that he had old fractures in his ribs and skull, indicating he was a victim of prior abuse before the event that took his life. News stories report that Mr. Cook blamed the three year old girl for pushing Matteo down the stairs.
