In Nebraska, alleged child abuser Brian Bowder was sentenced to prison for crimes against his infant daughter, Angela and three year-old step daughter. He pled no contest to child abuse charges. In court documents, prosecutors state that Bowder bit, hit, pinched and squeezed his infant daughter when angry about her crying. Angela had a broken rib, broken vessels in her eyes, bruises, and bite marks on various locations of her body.
Melanie Powell, the mother of the abused children, received probation for misdemeanor child endangerment.
The child victims have been placed in the protection of foster care. Unfortunately, these two defendants allegedly are expecting another child. With the right intervention this new child may be spared being a victim of child abuse at the hands of these two defendants.
Bowder is expecting to possibly serve additional time for probation violation of a federal weapons conviction. Bowder does have a long criminal rap sheet.
