In New Mexico, Raymond Gabaldon and Ashley Tafoya face charges in connection with the child abuse injuries sustained by their infant son. News stories report that the infant suffered multiple injuries such as a fractured arm, multiple oral injuries, facial bruises and scabs areas on his groin area. Currently the duo is held in the Valencia County Detention Center. Both are charged with first degree child abuse felonies.  Providers at the University of New Mexico Hospital reported the injuries to police. Allegedly, this is the second time the infant was brought in with injuries that mandated reporters addressed. There is a recent history of this couple’s involvement with Children Youth and Families Division. The injured baby is now in protective custody.
