In Pennsylvania, Domingo Ferreira was found dead in his cell at the Curran-Frumhold Correctional Facility. He was charged with child abuse in connection with the death of his 10-year-old daughter, Charleeni Ferreira. News stories report that a guard found him dead in his cell during an early morning bed check. Mr. Ferreira and his wife, Margarita Garabito are both charged in the child’s tragic death. Ms. Garabito is the deceased child’s stepmother. Charleeni died with multiple wounds including untreated fractured ribs, fractured hip and a large gash in her scalp. She suffered from infection and had injuries consistent with sexual abuse. Authorities report that multiple reports were made to CPS by mandated reporters. Details are not clear as to why this child remained in the home with her alleged abusers.
