In Rhode Island, Rachin McCoy is charged with the murder of his daughter, Naomi McCoy. Naomi was six weeks old at the time of her death. The state medical examiner ruled she died from blunt force trauma secondary to child abuse and was alone in the care of her father when she sustained the injuries. At the time of her death she had a skull fracture and broken ribs. She was pronounced dead on Friday at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Mr. McCoy is being held without bail and will face additional sentencing from prior convictions and a violation of the terms of his probation. He lived with Naomi and her mother at the time of this tragedy. McCoy worked for Wal-Mart prior to this felony.
