It is court-ordered anger management and parenting classes for child care provider, Nicole Mercer who is charged with felony abuse. Ms. Mercer was charged after a child’s mother had reported that her baby was injured while in the day care. News stories report that the boy had sustained what appeared to be a hand-print shaped mark on his body. News stories report that Ms. Mercer admitted to authorities that she slapped the child because he would not stop crying.
Ms. Mercer was ordered to take anger management and parenting classes as well as perform community service. Her charges will be reduced from felony abuse to battery if she follows court orders and avoids legal problems for the next one year and a half.
